Hello, my name is Elise - I work with children, adults of all ages and in couple counselling. I use tried and tested elements of different approaches to help you the person, not the issue. We can explore why you're hurt or where you are stuck. Once you realise in what way past experiences have affected you, you can grow from them. You may also need processing skills for how to overcome anxiety, stress, trauma or depression or simply to deal with thoughts and feelings in a better way.

The World Health Organisation now recommends a relatively new approach called ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). Mindfulness is just one of its 6 skills. As an ACT trainer of MSc students and organisations, I see how my clients, some of whom have been struggling for years with chronic anxiety, health and social phobias, OCD's  and depression benefit enormously and can become free of these conditions. Strong, evidence-based research shows up to 86% improvement with ACT skills, that have emerged from CBT. CBT has plateaued on 50% some 10 years ago and is now not considered effective on its own, although I include CBT's best elements in my work.

I work in person from Caernarfon, N Wales and am very experienced in working online as well. Individual sessions are £40 and for couple counselling, £60.I am a registered member of the BACP (membership number 00964739) and of the ACC which means that my practice has met their standards as a competent and ethical practitioner.
